Reporting to the VP Analytics at Pricing Solutions, the Analytics Consultant will be supporting the team with work in database management, data analytics, and modeling.
Key Position Responsibilities
1.Technical Tasks
- Execute the data modeling & analysis phase of our projects
- Prepare data prior to the analysis (ETL, data audit and cleansing)
- Execute the preliminary exploration of the data
- Build and run the statistical model (regression, tree, cluster, etc.) used in each project
- Develop key business insights out of the analysis
- Design, develop and maintain pricing tools to be used by our clients
- Examples of tools include, but are not limited to, pricing simulators based on real-life transactional data and statistical modeling
- Support the analytical needs of other PSL’s teams on an ad hoc basis
2. Other Tasks
- Work closely with the VP Analytics to understand the technical and non-technical requirements of each project, from the framing of business questions at hand to the delivery of the final recommendations
- Participate in internal project meetings
- Participate in client meetings on an ad hoc basis
Qualifications
1.Minimum requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Operations Research, with a strong academic record from a top tier university
- Expert level skills using statistical modeling (regressions, decision trees, clustering, etc.) to solve business problems
- Expert level skills in R
- Expert level skills in Excel, including advanced VBA programming
- Working knowledge of Tableau
- Working knowledge of ETL processes and best practices
- Ready to start work, and able to work legally in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
- Driver’s License and ability to travel to the USA without a Visa
- Fluency in English. Other languages would be an asset
2.Nice to have
- Familiarity with other data visualization tools (QlikView, etc.)
- Familiarity with relational database management tools (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud computing, especially Amazon Web Services
- Familiarity with Python
- Familiarity with web programming (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
- Familiarity with Shiny
3.Soft Skills:
- Highly Organized and Client-Oriented
- Able to manage multiple projects and communicate timelines, status, and meet timelines
- Able to balance smaller assignments and requests with larger projects
- Able to organize and maintain version control
- Strong interest in the consulting industry and profession
